Engagement Towards Cost Management

CIM Vancouver 2016
Mr Jean-Francois Verret (Glencore Mine Raglan), Mr Kristan Straub (Vice President - Glencore Mine Raglan)
Operating a site like Raglan Mine is costly (between 30% and 60% more than down south) due to many factors including building and maintaining multiple mine and service infrastructure sites, which require heating and power, maintaining roads and transport vehicles, geological and mining complexity as well as logistics, climate, etc.

To maintain a competitive edge, Raglan Mine needs to create value and turn every form of problem (waste) into an opportunity for improvement. The better Raglan Mine defines and executes work (plan, do, check, and act), the more value is created.

Kristan Straub will present various strategies deployed over the last year at Raglan Mine to increase productivity and production, reduce OPEX and CAPEX costs while managing the mine risk profile.
