The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate the value of a team based Continuous Improvement methodology embraced by Barrick Hemlo Operations. First part of the paper will outline this methodology in form of underlying Continuous Improvement principles. Next, these principles and theories will be connected with mining terms to demonstrate their value in mining context. The value of utilizing this methodology within mining operations will be demonstrated through the use of a case study at Barrick Hemlo Underground Mine. Paper will conclude with summary of benefits achieved at the underground mine.
