Peter Golde (CAMIRO Mining Division)
Equipment and systems currently being used in underground mining need to become more productive, easier to track, diagnose and maintain by taking advantage of advances made in other fields such as transportation, aerospace, robotics and the military. This can be accomplished by operating unattended through breaks and shift changes, producing less heat and exhaust emissions thereby reducing ventilation requirements, and being integrated with real time information systems that allow for better operational decision making and preventative maintenance practices that reduce unnecessary downtime.
