Building the next major iron ore mine in the Labrador trough

CIM Montreal 2011
Abstract

Champion Minerals is an iron ore exploration and development company with
highly prospective mineral holdings located in the heart of Canada’s premier
iron ore mining camps near Fermont and Schefferville Quebec. Champion’s Fermont
Holdings include 18 strategically located projects hosting 200 km of iron
formation located adjacent major iron ore producers and associated
infrastructure. Currently the focus is on the Fire Lake North, Bellechasse, and
Harvey Tuttle Projects that host over 1.5 billion tonnes of NI 43-101 compliant
inferred mineral resources, Champion also owns 15 other projects that host a
combined 600 million tonnes of historical non-NI 43-101 compliant iron ore
resources with significant blue sky potential. A November 2010 Preliminary
Economic Assessment of Fire Lake North estimated an NPV of US$1.64 Billion at a
5% discount rate in with an IRR of 24.8%. An update to this PEA will combine the
nearby Bellechasse deposit that currently hosts 215 MT of NI43-101 compliant
inferred mineral resources grading 29% Total Iron. The Company has a strong
financial position with over $40 million in its treasury. Champion is currently
conducting a 60,000 m diamond drill program to increase the quantity and quality
of iron ore mineral resources within its Fermont Holdings and advance these core
projects to the feasibility stage.
