Mike Rankin, Brian Griffin,
Abstract In July 2007 the International Finance Corporation of the World Bank Group released for public comment it’s updated Draft of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Guidelines for Mining . The new Mining EHS Guidelines are the result of a two and a half year review process to update guidelines for all sectors of IFC activity. These mining guidelines serve to condense the previous open pit, underground and Draft Precious Minerals Mining guidelines into a single document. They cover Industry-Specific Impacts and Management issues that may occur throughout the six mining life cycle; exploration, development, construction, operations, closure and post-closure.
