Lessons Learned on Developing Rockfill and Paste Fill Tunnels at Brunswick Mine

CIM MEMO 2008
Robert White,
Abstract Throughout the years, Brunswick Mine (BMS) has developed an expertise in order to maximize the ore reserves recovery to access unattainable ore lenses cut by mining activities during the mine’s life. To allow recovery of more than 5 million tonnes of ore, close to one kilometre of development through paste fill and rockfill has been excavated. This was done safely and in a timely manner. The technical aspect and operational approach taken to realise this important project for the Brunswick Mine operation will be presented.
