Modeling the Flow of Information in Mine Maintenance Systems

CIM MineSpace 2001
Abstract One challenge in applying information technologies in Mining is building a business case. In Mine Maintenance, there is a complex flow of information that contributes to making informed business decisions. By understanding those information relationships and the cost of wrong decisions, analysts can estimate the value of information flow. Developers can then ensure that systems deliver accurate information in a timely way. In this paper, general maintenance decision-making is discussed, with examples of how model-based analysis can improve the information delivered to decision makers.
