Copper in Poland

Abstract Poland has a unique copper industry. Copper sulphide concentrates are smelted in six shaft furnaces to produce matte and in a flash furnace directly to blister copper. The author will report on a recent visit to these operations and will review in general terms the copper industry around the world.
