This course provides a holistic understanding of advanced techniques in crushing and grinding. It covers process development, metallurgical balances, sampling, and size analysis. Comminution theory, as it relates to crushing/grinding laws and the equipment involved, provides a basis for understanding the plant design. The means of evaluating and modeling the crushing/grinding processes will be understood with reference to optimization processes. Grinding and size classification as well as energy expenditure and cost/performance considerations are also introduced.
