Building on the success of the inaugural Life-of-Mine 2012 Conference, held in Brisbane, The AusIMM will host the second event on this highly topical series during 15-17 July 2014 in Brisbane, Australia.
The integrative approaches and themes covered in the first event will be expanded for 2014 to attract and engage a broader range of professional disciplines. Delegates from industry, government and research areas will join to share practical experiences from across the mining life cycle: from exploration and prefeasibility stages, to mineral extraction and processing phases, and the post-operational closure era.
This conference, organised in collaboration with the University of Queensland’s Centre for Mined Land Rehabilitation (CMLR), will again provide participants with an invaluable source of information and experiences on current and future mine rehabilitation practices. Practitioners will develop an advanced level of understanding of relevant research findings, leading to improved practices and outcomes. Regulators will gain a broader exposure to activities and practices beyond their state and national jurisdictions.
In addition, the conference provides a platform for the mining and mineral processing engineers to be engaged with, learn from, and contribute to addressing the challenges and opportunities associated with the rehabilitation of mining and mineral processing wastes.
We hope to see you in Brisbane and look forward to presenting a thought provoking program.
