Logistics: On a bi-annual calendar, the national mining show in Mexico is held in Sonora province. Seminario Minero Internacional, will be the 11th edition with 300 exhibitors and a projected 10,000 visitors during the 3 day period.
Message: Over the past few years, Mexico has been able to position itself as the eighth most important trading economy in the world. In Latin America, Mexico is the single most influential trading economy. Since an economic liberalization policy was put in place in 1994, Mexico has signed 12 Free Trade Agreements which have helped to drive its trade activity into a higher level of global competitiveness and to create a "pro-initiative" economy.
There are more than 20 foreign mining companies currently exploring in Mexico, of which 75% are Canadian. In addition, there are more than 100 registered Mexican mining companies producing in the country. The Sonora trade show runs in alternate years to Acapulco and offers quality, quantity and diversity of attendees from both the technical and commercial side of the industry.
Program: The Trade Commission Service presents a before show country briefing, and matchmaking service with Mexican mining companies. Also, a popular event is a 2 hour technology seminar where Canadian participants present their success stories working with Mexican mining companies.
