The speakers include Jan Nesset, CIM distinguished lecturer, who will talk about "100 years of Blowing Bubbles," and Martin Verreault of Xstrata Zinc on "A Long-Hole Open Stope Blast in Hot Ground."

Mark Fracchia of PCS Potash will give an update on the Picadilly Project while Mike Taylor of Slam Exploration will provide an update on Nash Creek.

Ralph Johnson of Xstrata Zinc's talk is entitled "Scoop Tram Bucket Life Improvement" and Sari Muinonen of Xstrata Zinc on "Increasing Non Concentrate Feed on the Sinter Machine." Ted Shannon of Xstrata Zinc's talk is entitled "Mining the Back 40."

The convention gets underway with a meet and greet and a silent auction on Thursday, Sept. 10, with Sept. 11 filled with conferences that will end with an evening seafood feast and banquet. The annual golf tournament will be held Sept. 11.
