CIM DISCUSSION GROUPS
Welcome to CIMs Discussion Groups. Instructions for participating in the Discussion Groups and the roles and responsibilities of Discussion Group Administrators are outlined below.
To access the Discussion Groups select a group from the list on the top left-hand part of this page.
Public Discussions
Public discussions are open to CIM Members as well as the general viewing public. CIM Members can take part in these discussions from within the Members Only section or the public site. The general viewing public can only access these discussions from the public site.
Members Only
All CIM Members are entitled to participate in these discussions once a Member logs into CIMs Members Only section. There is no limitation on topics. Any member can start a new discussion at any given time. Other members can continue the discussion by sending replies.
Private Meeting Rooms
These rooms also are open to CIM Members. However, certain restrictions apply.
Each private meeting room is devoted to one specific topic or item of business, for example discussions of the CIM Central Publications Committee, or the CIM Membership Committee. Only CIM Members belonging to such a group are permitted to participate in these discussions. Each participant must obtain a password from the Group Administrator of that Private Meeting Room.
Group Administrator
The Group Administrator manages all discussions of a Discussion Group. The Group Administrator is selected by the Group when the room is set up. This individual can create new topics of discussion, create passwords for access to the Private Meeting Rooms, assign access levels, and archive discussions.
