CIM Hamilton Branch
To a vibrant and active CIM Branch, in recognition of its exemplary work in providing a relevant and active regular program of activities for the local community, with topical and interesting subjects being presented, in promoting membership, particularly encouraging local members to become national also, and in generally being a vibrant and active CIM Branch.The Hamilton Branch organizes a full program of Lectures and talks for its members, under an annual theme, sometimes in collaboration with other associations. The student support program was introduced in 1997/98 to encourage engineering student meeting participation and in particular provide the opportunity to get to know potential employers. The Branch supports the Hamilton District Science and Engineering Fair through the presentation of a special award. It publishes an annual year-end directory which incorporates reports from some of the presentations made at meetings. It supports the ISS (Iron and Steel Society) Elliot Lecture Presentation at McMaster University, and encourages students to become CIM national members and to become part of The Metallurgical Society of CIM.
