CIM Edmonton Branch
To a vibrant and active CIM Branch, showing exemplary work in providing a relevant and regular activities program and demonstrating most effective progress in reaching the aims and objectives of the Institute.The Edmonton Branch organizes a full program of technical Lectures for its members, including events with the following themes: Student Night, Manager's Night and Spouse's Night. The Edmonton Branch provides strong support to their Student Members through subsidized meeting rates, scholarships and book donations. The Branch collaborates with the local post secondary institutions to organize an annual student night in which scholarship winners give technical presentations. During this meeting, the CIM National President visits the Branch and explains the importance of CIM membership to the students. The Branch has made full use of the CIM Distinguished Lecturers program. The Branch also organizes successful social activities such as annual golf and curling events. Members of the Edmonton Branch are active in organizing the 2004 CIM Mining Conference and Exhibition.
